St. Louis

Went to St. Louis this weekend for a little San Diego girls reunion! Soo great to see them and hang out. We were surprised with lots and lots of snow on Saturday! So much and so unexpected, but still so pretty! So we headed to the Science Center for awhile, then ate a few St. Louis traditions at Guido's, stopped by Beth's fav coffee shop for a blackberry caramel latte (or other beverage), then headed home (to Beth's apartment) for a cozy meal and movie. It was so much fun hanging out with these girls again! Love them! Me, Beth, Jessica, Melissa, and Amanda!Amanda's friend that is living in St. Louis met up with us for lunch!

Hello! So, true, I missed a bit of time. Here are some photos from my skipped February:

Creighton got me tulips for Valentine's Day! Not just normal ones, I got to watch these ones bloom for a long time! They are lovely!

I still have them even now! The blooms are mostly dead now, but in their own way, I still think they are pretty pretty! I also kinda want to try to replant the bulbs again, see if they will come up next year.

Also in February, I got a new Poloroid-like camera! It's so fun and develops mini pictures right before your eyes! Love it!

One weekend Ashley, Jessie and I went snowboarding in Dubuque! We left Friday afternoon and took advantage of the late night ski, hopped in the hot tub for a bit as soon as we got back to the hotel, and Ash and I explored downtown Dubuque the next morning while Jessie watched her sister play volleyball. It was great!

And lastly, this Thursday I tried out making cheese straws for the first time, for a little St. Patrick's Day potluck. They are not perfect, a little too wide I think, and I was in a hurry trying to make them, but they turned out pretty well, and I would like try them again and change some things I did.This is what they are supposed to look like:

Day 37, January 14

My usu, coffee ice cream with oreos.

Coldstone is going to stop giving away free ice cream on our birthdays, I believe, because they sent out an early birthday ice cream coupon saying that they were changing their birthday club to something else...aka this is our last free ice cream ever! Creighton and I decided to take advantage of this last offer on the last day it was available...which also happened to be one of the coldest days of the year yet (in the negatives, without wind chill factored in). It was delish...I'll miss you, free Coldstone!

Then we played Scrabble...we have been playing more games recently, and it has been fun! :)

Day 36, January 8 Happy Birthday Dad!!

Happy Birthday 50th Birthday to my dad!! He got to leave today for a last minute trip to Costa Rica! So fun! Have fun meeting up with everyone again and going surfing! Creighton and I got to eat Jimmy Jack's with Mom and Dad yesterday as they were driving through Iowa City before flying out this morning. Thanks for stopping!
